Goals:
Have deputies that perform to the best of their ability to give the citizens the service they expect and deserve.
Establish a position to prioritize training and ensure that the training is consistent.
Make sure the deputies have the basic equipment to complete their duties in a manner that is safe and professional manner for both the deputy and citizens
Schedule existing staff to fill in positions when there is a regular, scheduled shortage in another division of the department
Have a department that can count on consistent, equal and fair treatment for all employees.
Address jail overcrowding by strategically working with the jail staff and court system to make sure the prosecution time limits are followed and to utilize every means available to reduce jail overpopulation until the options of a new jail are found.
Provide training to the citizens, such as school programs, seniors vs. crime and the required training that allows the issuance of concealed weapon permits to qualified individuals on a regular basis.
And, because every employee has something that they excel at, I would like to increase their interaction and involvement with day-to-day needs of the department and citizens.
My overall goal is to make the department safer and more efficient for the employees and citizens of Clinton County.
